HUATULCO

Located on the southern Pacific coast of Mexico, approximately 425 miles SE of Acapulco is the Resort destination of Huatulco.

After the success of Cancun, the Mexican government was looking for an equivalent on the Pacific coast. In 1983, construction began on the tourist complex of Hualtuco , which was until then virtually unknown except to the local people.

Situated on nine natural bays with 22 miles of white, pristine beaches, Huatulco was turned into a tourist paradise. Lush mountain lowlands descending to acres of rich, tropical foliage allows a refreshing backdrop to the fascinating coves and crystal blue bays. It is simple in its elegance and gracious hospitality affording its guests almost guaranteed perfect weather. It has yet to become a major tourist destination, so you can leave the crowds behind and languish peacefully in this beautiful tropical paradise.

Only two of the bays are developed - Bahia Tangolunda and Bahia Santa Cruz. Bahia Tangolunda, “Place where the gods live” is the well developed hotel center where six major resorts encircle the bay. Several beaches line this bay including Playa La Hierbabuena, Playa del Amor, Punta Praiso and Playa La Entrega, where a coral reef is just a few feet off shore.

Bahia Santa Cruz, the site of the original fishing village, is the second developed area with Cruise Ship docking, party boat day cruises along the bay and deep-sea sport fishing at it’s best. The village of Santa Cruz has a shady main square surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars and a few Mexican style hotels.

La Crucecita is located a mile or so inland from Bahia Chahue and is considered the city center of Huatulco. La Crucecita has a charming town square including a lovely old church as well as restaurants and shopping.
Chahue is the central and largest of the nine bays and further development here is in the planning stage.

You will find a choice of elegant and charming hotel accommodations where the staff still knows the meaning and value of excellent service and personal attention. Delicious Mexican cuisine, including fresh seafood served at open-air beachside restaurants and international dishes served in casual but sophisticated surroundings are all a part of Huatulco. Along with night clubs and discotheques, there is a golf course, a marina and a small international airport.

Snorkeling, fishing, sailing, swimming and scuba diving are some of the activities that you will find here, as well as horseback riding, golf and tennis.

Huatulco is an unrivaled resort destination where you can relax and truly get away from it all.
